Since 1930, Goodwill Industries has been a proven community resource in central Indiana. Goodwill adds value in communities by providing employment opportunities to individuals whose options are limited by disabilities, educational levels or criminal history. Today well over half of Goodwill’s employees have one or more of these barriers.
Just as companies, job opportunities and community needs change, Goodwill is constantly adapting and evolving to meet the needs of the communities in which we operate in ways that make a difference. Ultimately, through the work we offer and with the association of socially committed companies and other organizations, we are working to reduce poverty and increase the economic self-sufficiency for our employees and their families.
Commercial Services employs 140 people. Our employees come to Goodwill with varying skill levels and work experience. The expectations are that each individual can work, learn and improve their economic situations. Many of our employees learn transferable skills, create a work history and move on to other opportunities. Others continue to grow with us. The median years of service in Commercial Services is about seven years. Goodwill understands the challenges that businesses face because we operate successful businesses.
