This was the assigned task, yet in keeping with our dedication to quality control, we went above and beyond. One of the Goodwill employees working on the repacking noticed that some of the towels were defective so he put them aside to notify Calderon. The problem then occurred again, which prompted the employee to notify management and do a more thorough inspection of the towels (which was not part of the original job specification). Management discovered that in fact many of the towels were defective and notified Calderon immediately. Because Goodwill was able to identify this product flaw, Calderon was able to quickly and efficiently correct the situation and their customer relationships and quality standards were maintained as well.
Recently due to a recall from the original manufacturer, a variety of needles currently placed in packages were recalled. Goodwill, utilizing its state-of-the-art inventory management system was able to easily and quickly locate the recalled needles and pull them from production. Without such a system in place, production time and money would have been lost. |
